The 2025 GMC HUMMER EV SUV features cutting-edge engineering and technology to make it equally at home on the highway or the trail. We’re going to take a closer look at some of its many amazing features.
Amazing Features of the 2025 GMC HUMMER EV SUV
Advanced Battery Technology
The HUMMER is available in 2x and 3x trims, and both use GMC’s powerful Ultium battery technology. The battery is built on an 800-volt architecture using stackable pouch cells. This design allows the cells to be arranged to provide almost perfect balance between the left and right sides of your vehicle, which increases stability and control while driving.
In the 2x, a 20-cell Ultium battery powers two motors, one controlling the front axle and the other controlling the rear axle. They generate 570 hp and 7,400 lb-ft of torque. The larger 24-cell battery in the 3x powers three motors, two connected to the rear axle and the third to the front axle. This enables the 3x to supply 830 hp and an incredible 11,500 lb-ft of torque.
Extract Mode
Your HUMMER is built to best any terrain, and the specialized Extract Mode helps to do this by raising the entire vehicle nearly 6″ above its already high ground clearance of 10.2”. It’s activated by selecting Terrain Mode on the Drive Mode Selector in the center console. Once selected, push the raise icon at the top of the Selector and feel your vehicle rise to conquer that rough terrain.
Air Ride Adaptive Suspension
This available technology allows you to vary your ground clearance based on driving conditions. Entry/Exit Mode lowers the HUMMER to make it easy to get in or out of, while Aero mode activates automatically when driving on a road or highway by lowering the vehicle to reduce drag and improve performance. You can also choose Terrain Mode to increase its clearance in rough terrain, or raise it even further, as we saw with Extract Mode above.
Torque Vectoring
This system is available on the 3x trim and allows the electronic control unit (ECU) to adjust torque to each wheel independently. A network of sensors monitors wheel traction and continually updates the ECU, enabling it to calculate the appropriate amount of torque to supply to ensure the best possible surface grip.
Torque vectoring improves vehicle handling and control in even the most difficult terrain, allowing you to climb or descend 60 percent grades, ford 26″ to 32″ deep water depending on the Drive Mode you select, and scale up to 18″ verticals with ease.
